Rock Climbing Courses
Aim: To teach fundamentals of top rope climbing.
Topics: anchor point set-up, safety, and basic climbing technique in the outdoor single pitch environment.
Ideal for those making their first steps from indoors onto real rock.
Duration: 1 Day Price: $225
Aim: A guided introduction to Sport climbing techniques.
Topics: fundamental skills for safe leading on fixed protection.
Includes free lead assessment for The Edge Adventure Centre’s18.5m lead wall.
Duration: ½ day indoors / ½ day outdoors Price: $225
Aim: To equip those participating in roped activities with basic tools for self rescue: Abseil safety including self belay and ascending the rope. This is considered the minimum standard of knowledge for those who wish to conduct abseiling and climbing activities without an instructor.
Duration: 1 Night Price: $80 Time: 7pm to 9pm
Aim: To train climbers to become competent in lead climbing on natural protection for single and multi-pitch routes. Building on skills learned in Basic and Sport Rock This course provide the skills, and knowledge necessary to protect climbs without man made anchor points.
Includes a copy of John Long’s ‘Advanced Rock Climbing’.
